Malaysian Medical Council

1. I still do not have a valid reason why the Malaysian Medical Council(MMC) had limited the amount of students in our local medical school.

2. It's the fact that every one of us know that medical course is one of the critical field in our country today.

3. It's also a solid fact JPA had prioritize to send SPM leavers to study medicine compared to the other courses. We have to accept that medical course is the most important and critical eventhough other courses such as Pharmacy, Dentistry, Biotechnology and Engineering are important as well.

4. The ratio of 1 medical doctor towards 4,000 people is very dangerous. It might cause such a bad consequences towards the quality of the doctor's treatment. It also affect the patients' hospitality.

5. It had been a bad moment for the medical students in Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciencess(CUCMS) where the MMC had threaten for not authorize their MBBS(Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery) if the university do not decrease their students to 150 people for one batch.

6. MMC claimed that the quality of the future medical doctor might be affected if the students are more than the quota agreed.

7. For me, I always believe that we have a lot of potential SPM leavers to further their studies in medical course. But their ambition had been demolished by this MMC so called rules and regulations.

8. Trust me, if MMC are still on their premise to control the amount of medical students, it will be forever that Malaysia will be lacking of the existence of qualified medical practitioner.

9. What should they do is to collabarate with the government to upgrade the quality of our medical schools so that these institutions could provide places for their students.

10. This is much much better compared to control the amount of our medical students.

I am sure the rules and regulations of MMC is none other than to safeguard the standard and quality of our doctors. We want quality doctors to serve the people not merely numbers, as such local college should at least comply to the minimal standard set by MMC with regard to the students lecturers ratio etc.
